Bed Sheet 01:25
There’s a bed sheet with your name on At the end of our street And it says that it’s your birthday But it’s been there for weeks And I’m wondering if your birthday was as good as it seemed And I’m wondering if your birthday was as good as good as you dreamed

You have nice things Oh oh things You have nice friends Oh oh friends And I can’t see What it means To me

I Whoo Yeah 05:27
Cried at the funeral Checking my phone was on silent I didn’t belong Thinking about all of the times we sang along I’m down on this losing love Stayed up far too late tonight thinking about what I’d become It’s raining outside and I’m tired and the tv is on Scroll through our lives and our loves what have we done? Take it take it all I’ll go out for more Dreaming I could never let you go Listen while you can Darling there’s no plan Leaning on whatever lets you Tried at your house tonight You said you were lost and alone and you said that was fine. Driving past towns with their lights and their lies we won’t know Scroll through our lives and our loves What have we done Take it take it all I’ll go out for more Dreaming I could never let you go Listen while you can Darling there’s no plan Leaning on whatever lets you go Listen don’t be sad We’re not coming back Dreaming I could never let you down Sing it while you can Louder make it sound Dreaming I could never let you go Cried at the funeral Drowning the usual Chasing the fog again Sailing on home again Turning it on again Hitting delete again Chasing the love Can’t help all the love you make
4.
Auto Harp 03:04
So we lay On the floor Streams of light moved on And we laughed About the storm Oh the night seemed long And we watched And it was Just enough for us Just because Just because All the world needs love Just because Just because
5.
I’m keeping on Ain’t that the way that it goes Oh it’s so dumb Endlessly letting it go Oh it’s so cold Falling away and it shows Oh it’s so slow Endlessly letting you go

about

On 15 October 2021 Beanie Tapes is releasing 1⅞, the début EP from bedd, a new Oxford band fronted by Jamie Hyatt (The Daisies, Medal, Family Machine). Five tracks of melancholy nostalgia with a 6-piece band carefully constructing huge swelling arrangements around Jamie’s voice and guitar.

Jamie released his first tape exactly 30 years ago, when his band The Daisies put out a cassette of demo recordings in 1991 and scored “Demo of the Month” in Oxford music magazine Curfew (which later became Nightshift). The Daisies signed to IRS Records and Regal Records, toured the US with Supergrass and were a big part of the early 90s UK indie scene. Jamie’s next two bands, Medal (Polydor) and Family Machine (Alcopop), also feature heavily in the story of Oxford music over the last three decades.

The bedd lineup includes two other members of Family Machine (Neil Durbridge on guitar and Darren Fellerdale on bass), as well as Tom Sharp (Smilex, Black Candy, Richard Walters) on guitar, Tim Midlen (The Manacles of Acid) on synths and Sam Spacksman (Ciphers) on drums.

The standard tape speed for a compact cassette is 1 7⁄8 ips (inches per second).
